Services

Sitka Community Hospital - Old is licensed for 15 long term care beds and provides:

24 hour nursing care by competent and caring RN's, LPN's and CNA's
Private and semi-private rooms
Full-time manager
On-site administration
Excellent staff to resident ratio
On-site family practice clinic, emergency room, laboratory, and radiology services
Full-time rehabilitation department (Physical Therapy, Occupation Therapy, and Speech Therapy)
Registered Dietitian
Individualized activities program
Cable and internet services

How to Choose the Right Care

Nursing Home Administrator

The Nursing Home Administrator directs the provision of skilled, intermediate and rehabilitation care on a 24-hour basis and ensures a smooth, high quality and professionally acceptable operation. The incumbent must ensure the care and services provided meet the satisfaction of the residents, their families and physicians, and all state, federal, and local regulations and laws.

Social and Cultural Activities

Each Resident has a comprehensive activities program designed to enhance mental, emotional and physical well-being. Individualized and group activities are provided by full-time Activity Assistants.

Home-like Care

When your family member needs more care than can be delivered at home, the Long Term Care Unit at Sitka Community Hospital - Old offers professional skilled nursing and social work services in protected and home-like rooms.

15 licensed long term care beds
Rooms: 3 semi-private rooms (2 beds in each) and 9 private rooms, all with a half-bath, recliner, television, and telephone
Views of the mountains or the ocean from all rooms
Activity room with large screen TV, stereo, piano, internet access, arts & crafts, and recreation
Salon Services
Complimentary in-house laundry and mending services
Jacuzzi bath tub
Dining room for meals, cooking projects, and a refrigerator for snacks and beverages

Skilled Services

Each Resident is assessed by all disciplines to create an individualized care plan. Our care program includes:

Medically supervised health care, as prescribed and ordered by your family physician
Consultations and participation in the care plan by a professional team of care givers including: Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Nutrition
Easy access to other medical services (co-located in hospital facility), as may be required

Social Work Services

Our Social Services Coordinator is here to assist our Residents in maintaining psychosocial health and optimal quality of life.
