In-Patient Care

Our Acute Care Unit as Sitka Community Hospital - Old offers the expertise of a medical center combined with the warmth and compassion of a small town.

About Our Services

Our 12 bed unit is staff with skilled professionals that can deliver a full spectrum of care including medical, surgical, geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency, rehabilitation, obstetrics, diabetes, and critical care stabilization for transport to a higher level of care.
Our nursing team includes over 35 Registered Nurses with certifications in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Trauma, and Geriatrics. We promote an atmosphere of safety and collaboration between the hospital departments as well as throughout the community.

We provide care for patients in all stages of life, from newborns through those needing end-of-life care. We treat patients from all areas of Southeast Alaska as well as the lower 48 and other countries, especially during the summer months.

Patient Rooms

All rooms in the unit are private. Patients have their own phone, and the number is posted in each room so calls can be made directly to the patient. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower.

To respect the privacy and confidentiality of all our patients, we cannot provide information over the phone without direct permission from the patient or family member of a child.
